Capella Student › Who we are

Who we are, and why we can afford to be honest

The obvious question about a site with a school's name on it is who benefits from the advice. The answer here is structural rather than a promise, which is the only kind of answer worth anything.

The structural answer

We are an independent consultation practice. We support working nurses across seventeen online programs — Capella among them, but no differently from the rest.

That is what makes an honest recommendation possible. A consult that ends in "not Capella, WGU suits your hours better" costs us nothing, because that nurse becomes a client either way. A single-school affiliate cannot say that sentence and stay solvent. We can, and that is the whole reason this site is able to carry a page called who Capella is wrong for.

We are not Capella University. We are not paid by Capella. Nobody here receives anything if you enrol, at Capella or anywhere else.

What the practice actually does

The guidance on this site is a by-product of the work, not a content exercise. Three things make up the practice, and each one is why a particular page here contains something you will not find on a review site.

  • Clinical placement

Securing practicum placements is the work we have done longest and the reason the practicum page is specific about approval windows and preceptor supply rather than vague. We know which states are thin because we work them.

  • Academic support

Coursework support inside these programs, which is how we know what a scoring guide rewards, why Kaltura assessments catch people out, and what a realistic weekly hour count looks like against a real assessment load.

  • Enrolment consultation

The free twenty-minute call: transfer credit, format fit, placement route, and a straight recommendation. It is the front of the practice and the only part that is free.

  • Who you will actually speak to

Consultations and the writing on this site are handled by the advisers below. Every article carries the name of whoever is answerable for it, because guidance about a decision this size should not be anonymous.

What you will not get is an enrolment counsellor with a target. There is no target here, because there is nothing to enrol you in.

    Rosalind Byrne

    DNP, FNP-BC

    Clinical Placement Lead

Runs preceptor searches across saturated markets and has spent a decade on the paperwork side of practicum approval.

    Theo Marchetti

    MSN, RN-BC

    Programme Cost Analyst

Models what online nursing programmes actually cost at a pace a working nurse can sustain, rather than at the pace the brochure describes.

    Adaeze Nwankwo

    MSN, RN

    Enrolment and Credit Adviser

Assesses transcripts against competing credit systems, and has watched more nurses surrender earned credit than she cares to count.

    Simone Okafor

    MSN, PMHNP-BC

    Behavioural Health Pathways Adviser

Advises psychiatric-mental health candidates, where preceptor supply is thinnest and the placement question decides the school.

    Callum Bright

    MSN, NE-BC

    Nurse Executive Pathways Adviser

Works with nurses moving into leadership, and with the employer reimbursement lists that quietly settle most school decisions.

How we handle facts on this site

Worth stating, because a lot of pages about Capella are written by people who have never seen the inside of it.

    • Every figure is Capella's own published term, with the date it was checked. We restate; we do not set.
    • We model from the midpoint of a published band, not the floor, because the floor is the number marketing quotes and your budget has to survive being wrong.
    • We name the qualifier. When Capella says a master's takes 15 months for under $18,000, we say that describes the fastest 25% of students, because it does.
    • We correct ourselves in public. This site previously said a Capella FlexPath transcript carries a GPA. It does not, and the pages that said so were fixed.

    What we are not

Not a ranking site, not a review aggregator, not an affiliate, and not Capella. If your question is about your existing account or transcript, Capella's own support is the right place and we will tell you so rather than guess.
