Twenty minutes with someone who is not paid when you enrol
Not an enrolment call. We support working nurses across seventeen online programs, so we have no stake in which one you choose — and that is the only thing that makes an honest recommendation possible on a site with a school's name on it.
What the call actually covers
Four things, in this order, because that is the order in which they change the answer.
What you already hold
We look at your transcript against both of Capella's formats, since they count prior learning by different systems. This is the cheapest lever available to you and the one most often pulled too late — after the format has already been chosen.
How you actually work
Not how you intend to work. We pressure-test the self-paced model against your real week: your roster, your household, and what happened the last time you took on something with no external deadline. That single answer predicts your final bill better than any figure on a tuition page.
Your placement route
On clinical tracks this outranks everything else, and it is the thing a website cannot answer for you. We look at preceptor supply in your state and specialty, whether your own employer is a realistic route, and what the timeline has to be. Securing placements is the work this practice has done longest.
A straight recommendation
Including the schools that beat Capella for your situation, named specifically. If a structured program would cost you less because of how you work, we will say so. If your employer's reimbursement list settles it, we will tell you that and the call will be short.
What it is not
Not a sales sequence. One call, and if it is not useful that is where it ends — no hand-off to a desk, no drip campaign, no reassignment to somebody with a target.
We are not Capella's enrolment team and nobody here is paid when you enrol, at Capella or anywhere else.
Come with these four answers and the call is twice as useful
- Where your credits are from, roughly — school, level, and how long ago.
- Your honest weekly hours. The number that survives a bad week, not the good one.
- Whether your employer has an approved-school list, and whether tuition reimbursement is available to you.
- Whether you know anyone who could precept you, even informally, if your track needs a practicum.
None are required. All four make the twenty minutes go further.
